About BMW
BMW is one of the most popular European brands sold in the United States. Their cars first became available in 1956, and started being physically assembled stateside in 1994. The very first American BMW dealership appeared in 1975, and by 2016 BMW became the 12th best-selling brand. The largest assembly plant is located at Greer in South Carolina and produces the largest number of BMW vehicles worldwide at around 1,500 units each day. Some specific models include the X7, X3, X5, X6 and X4. Aside from the United States, BMW also has a presence in Latin America, with a number of marketing, financial and design services.
About BMW Alpina B7
The Alpina B7 is the performance variant for the BMW 7 Series. It is designed and constructed via the same assembly system used for standard BMW vehicles, yet has 4 additional cylinders with 600 horsepower. It can accelerate from zero to sixty at a much faster rate, in as little as 3.5 seconds, and also produces greater torque at 627 versus 590 for previous editions. However, the additional weight slows the vehicle a bit, although it can still reach speeds of 205 mph, which surpasses even the M760i, which is restricted electronically to just 155 mph. The B7 is outfitted with a V8, twin turbocharged engine that is 4.4 liter. Power is transmitted to each of the four wheels through an automatic eight speed transmission. The shift time is superior to previous models, with additional traction that allows it to accelerate better. The engine also uses a turbo impeller which is a bit larger with intercoolers that have been modified.
Common BMW Alpina B7 A/C Problems
A/C problems rarely occur in the Alpina B7, as it is a high end, six figure vehicle that is rigorously tested in every respect. However, when A/C issues do occur it is usually internal. Refrigerant might break down in a manner that causes the car’s compressor to degrade and then jam. To prevent this from happening, it is important to make sure the car’s A/C system is periodically tested by a BMW specialist so that any potential problems can be identified and addressed in advance before they become serious and costly to resolve.
