About Buick

The Buick Division is owned by General Motors, and was created by David Unbar Buick, a highly respected automotive visionary. Buick was one of the earliest American marquees, and though it is today a division for GM, in 1908 it actually founded the company. For most of its history, Buick cars were geared primarily towards American buyers, and is considered a premium brand which is more luxurious than most of the company’s cars, yet still beneath Cadillac. The brand is highly successful, and despite strong competition from the likes of Porsche and Lexus, it has been able to maintain its market dominance due to the reliability of its vehicles and strong foundation.

About Buick Allure

The Buick Allure is synonymous with the Buick LaCrosse and was sold primarily to Canadian customers. It is a large, luxury sedan that was redesigned in 2017. Even though production ended in the U.S. two years later, it is still assembled and sold in China where it received another facelift for 2019. The Allure uses the E2XX platform which is the same as the 2016 Chevy Impala, and switching to this platform actually lowered weight while increasing the width and length. The engineers also used special steel and materials that are sound absorbing. The Allure is powered via the Ecotec or miniature GM gasoline engine and it also features the eAssist drivetrain, which allows it to utilize electricity to varying degrees. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via the automatic six speed transmission. The primary difference between the North American and Canadian variant is the drive system. While the Chinese version uses front wheel drive, North American models typically use all-wheel drive.

Common Buick Allure A/C Problems

Some drivers have reported air flow problems. After driving their Buick for between four and five hours, the A/C air flow dropped considerably. In fact, the flow of air was so inadequate that one driver stated that he and his wife had actually started sweating. They tried increasing the fan motor speed, but that didn’t work, then they turned off the A/C for a time to restart it to see if that would fix the issue, but it didn’t.
