About Mazda
Mazda is a prominent Japanese corporation that specializes in the manufacture of automobiles. Founded in 1920, over the last century it has sold millions of vehicles while forming strategic partnerships with other automakers and developing proprietary technologies. Mazda also has the honor of being the first Asian car company whose vehicle (Mazda 787B) won first place at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 1991. Its vehicles have also competed at the Singapore Grand Prix, Spa 24 Hours and IMSA RS.
Between 1974 and 2015, Mazda formed an alliance with Ford, where Ford purchased a stake in the company at 24.5 percent, which was increased to 33.4 percent in 1995. This partnership was the result of financial problems that Mazda encountered during the 1960s, and by aligning itself with Ford Mazda was able to embark on various joint projects.
About Mazda 6
The Mazda 6, which is called Mazda Atenza in China and Japan, is a medium sized car that was first introduced in 2002. It is the successor to the Mazda 626, and is very popular, becoming one of the fastest selling Mazda models of all time. A number of refinements have been made to newer models, such as wheels made from aluminum alloy, driver assistance, updated fabrics, and a SkyActiv engine that can produce from 187 to 227 horsepower depending on the variant. It offers the option of a 6 speed manual or automatic transmission and Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. Mazda did announce that they planned to discontinue the manual transmission for the 2019 edition, but has also said that it might become available again in the future via special order.
Common 2003 Mazda 6 A/C Problems
Some owners have reported problems with the air conditioning in their Mazda 6. In one case they inspected the fuses because when turning on the A/C the light would display but the fan would not spin. Further investigations found that the blower had gone bad and needed to be replaced. The fuses also needed to be changed and some drivers also switched the air filter for the cabin. If the wiring connections are bad this could also result in problems with the A/C.
