About Nissan
Nissan is a well-known multinational company that is based in Japan. Their specialty is automobile manufacture, and they are most famous for their Infiniti and Datsun brands. In the past it was a zaibatsu, but over the last half century has expanded internationally, even forming alliances with other carmakers who were once rivals. Today the company is focusing on electric and hybrid vehicles and after 2021 intends for the majority of its automobiles to incorporate this technology.
About 2005 Nissan Altima
The 2005 Nissan Altima is perhaps their sportiest edition. Moderately sized, its interior was redesigned, and the powerful V6 engine was enhanced further, with the introduction of the SE-R variant. The engine can produce up to 250 horsepower and the cabin has more space than its rivals the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. It has both outstanding handling and superb acceleration, and can quickly take off whenever the gears are used. The 2005 edition is so impressive that it received the prestigious award North American Car of the Year, and even today is one of Nissan’s top selling models.
Common 2005 Nissan Altima A/C Problems
Some drivers have reported a problem with the Altima’s defrosting system. Specifically, they stated that the air conditioning would shut off whenever its temperatures fell to a certain level, usually beneath 35 degrees. The issue was severe, with some drivers saying that they were unable to see through the car’s windows.
Issues have also occurred when the Nissan Altima was moving at certain speeds. For example, one owner has said that while the A/C was turned on and the vehicle was being driven between 45 and 35 miles per hour, they downshifted and the car jolted. These problems were also associated with the A/C but it was challenging for mechanics to replicate. A third problem that has been report is the magnetic clutch, which does not properly engage, causing the A/C to blow air which is warm rather than cold. Some owners believe that the driver and passengers could be exposed to hazardous heat levels that could jeopardize their ability to handle the vehicle safely.
